WYOG thought about putting up our own advice on growing – but there are so many fantastic resources already out there, we thought it best to start with them. Here are some of my favourites:
Garden Organic – http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk – which has loads of colourful ‘Grow your own’ cards for different vegetables, fruit, edible flowers, herbs and green manures. It also has general growing info on every topic – and, obviously, all following organic principles.
Sowing New Seeds – http://www.sowingnewseeds.org.uk – same style as GO above, as it was one of their projects. Offers advice on growing and eating exotic food crops in the UK.
Royal Horticultural Society – http://www.rhs.org.uk – Lots of tips including beginners guides and more complex information for the experienced grower, plus what to do this month, and a comprehensive A-Z guide for growing all manner of fruits and vegetables.
National Allotment Society – http://www.nsalg.org.uk – for all things allotmenty, eg planning your plot, monthly jobs. also an A-Z of growing vegetables, fruit and herbs.
Morrison’s Let’s Grow – http://www.your.morrisons.com – for very simple guides suitable for children.
